To honor their son's memory, Steve and Cathy Schweinberg held the First Annual Jason Schweinberg Memorial Classic in September 2004. The goal of their family is to spread awareness of Congenital Heart Defects, honor Jason's memory, and to support other families whose children are born with CHD's.
The Schweinbergs fulfill these goals by raising funds to purchase Automatic Defibrillators (AEDs) for schools and other facilites, as well as honoring a CHD child with a wish.*
AEDs in Schools
While raising money for the CHD Awareness Quilt Project, the Schweinberg's wanted a portion of the proceeds to go toward the purchase of an Automatic Defibrillator for the school that Jason attended. With the success of the fundraiser and the help of the Sandwich EMS, the quilt project was able to purchase AED's for two schools in Sandwich, Illinois as well as the certified training of these devices for all staff members at both schools. Funds raised through the Annual Jason Schweinberg Memorial Classic will continue to go toward the purchase of AED's for schools and facilites for children. See below for recipients of AED's.
Child Honoree Wish
Each year, as part of the golf event, the Schweinberg’s make a wish come true for a child that is courageously battling CHD. Understanding how CHD’s affect the entire family, both financially and emotionally, they wish to put a smile on the child’s face and bring something special into these family’s lives.
Your sponsorship is a great way for you to get added publicity during the golf outing. It also underwrites outing expenses and ensures that the maximum dollars raised are dedicated to the fight against Congenital Heart Defects.Your participation is greatly appreciated!
